Let me tell you where I am and how I got here. Right now I live in Alamogordo, New Mexico...kind of.
Graduation was May 31st, and it was just about the coolest experience of my life. After that I drove around the Four Corners states for a week in an RV with my family. It was really cool to see the Grand Canyon.
The next big thing was going home and getting engaged to Sarah on June 13th. We went to Charleston for a couple of days and while we were there we went out for dinner and dessert and I asked her to marry me. She of course said yes. That made the rest of my summer really fun, and Sarah and I enjoyed this new phase of our relationship.
After that I went to several weddings: Lance and Danielle's in SC, and Tom and Liz's and Dave and Lynn's in CO. I came back, went to Spain for vacation, hung out at home for a while, and finally flew out to NM to start work.
Whew.
I spent a while looking at houses for sale, and I even put an offer on one, but that didn't really work out. Not yet at least. Then I got sent to Ohio for Air Force acquisitions training. It has made for some pretty long days of powerpoint slides, but I've distracted myself by doing things like this blog during those lectures.
So bottom line, I'm living out of hotels, and I'll soon be back in New Mexico without a place to live. My plan is to move into a trailer as I continue looking for a house, but that will take a while. I'm going to ASBC (i.e. USAFA round 2) in October and November, but after that I'll really be in New Mexico.
