the good side of Dayton
While acquisitions school is kind of boring, it's in a great location: Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio. What is so great about Dayton? you may ask. Well, I did too. Fortunately, I found a good answer. I've been able to take advanatage of this location and take some wonderful weekend trips.
My first weekend here I had Monday off for Labor Day, so Idrove to Bedford, VA to go to a wedding with Sarah. Her cousin Beth was getting married, so the whole family was there and everybody had a good time. It was really good to spend time with Sarah too. Really good. We got to spend nearly 3 whole days together.
This last weekend I drove to London, ON with my friend Joe. My aunt and uncle and several cousins live there and I hadn't seen them in a while. We drove up there after class on Friday, had only a little bit of trouble crossing the border with a rental car, and chatted for a little while after we got in. The next day we spent the afternoon at Western with my cousin and had dinner before leaving to go back to Dayton. Yes, we did make sure to buy some milk in a bag before returning to the US.
We came back on Saturday so we would have a chance to go to the Air Force museum on Sunday. We spent 5 hours there in the afternoon and didn't quite manage to get through everything. It was very cool. The neatest thing was getting to see how tiny some planes are and how huge other ones are. If you're ever up here though, make sure to stop by, and make sure you see the Cold war exhibit.
So while classes have been boring, I have really enjoyed my time in Dayton. In addition, I'm getting extra money just for being here, so that's always a plus.
